⁴⁴ You will be so short of money that you will have to borrow from those foreigners. They will be the leaders in the community, and you will be the followers.

Moses said:

⁴⁵ Israel, if you don't obey the laws and teachings that the Lord your God is giving you, he will send these curses to chase, attack, and destroy you. ⁴⁶ Then everyone will look at you and your descendants and realize that the Lord has placed you under a curse.
